Gods and Monsters, heroes and villains, spanking fights and dangerous missions. When you consider the main constituents of classical mythology, it is a wonder that more games do not feature Titans, Gorgan-slayers and zeus etc.
You are Jason and there are plenty of Argonauts to assist you in the search for the Fleece.
Your first task is to master a fighting system which is very simple to achieve. Easy to grasp and easy to execute, the same control fulfills more or less the same functions, whether sword weilding or handling the mace or spear, while later challenges demand a more adroit and enemy-specific weapon selection, it is a very comprehensive workout.
While Jason wanders round his palace and environs, commuting with guards and citizens and commiserating with the latter over the loss of the diabolical Black Tongues, collecting background information and performing side missions.
It is fun to hook up with Herculese and the rest but you can't control them as they accompany you into battle.
The foes are various and nicely drawn but I cannot help but feel that this game feels a little laboured.
